My Mission

Welcome to Calderbank Academy!

Calderbank Academy is a personal site used to share experience and information for learners of all ages, dedicated to fostering a deep appreciation for specialised education, pedagogy and research.

Meet Lee Calderbank - Founder, Teacher and Researcher:

After teaching for over a decade I have decided to use and share my expertise with others that might be interested. So I started this website Calderbank Academy, as a place to share and reach out to peers and others.

I have a BA(Hons) in Archaeology, and then went on to do my PGCE(M) in Secondary History. Whilst starting my teaching career I pursued a Masters in Education Research and Practice, further enhancing my pedagogical knowledge base. Currently, I am working within the data collection phase of a Doctorate in Education at the University of East Anglia, developing and collecting evidence for LEGO-Based pedagogical processes.

Specialising in Autism and Specialist Education:

My journey in education has been deeply influenced by a passion for understanding and catering to diverse learning needs. I specialise in Autism and Specialist Education and my work reflects a profound commitment to inclusivity, ensuring that every learner, regardless of their unique abilities.

Passion for LEGO, Life in Norfolk, and Family:

Beyond the realm of academia, I am an avid lover of LEGO, recognising its potential as a powerful educational tool. My approaches incorporate this beloved building block into the learning experience, making lessons not only informative but also engaging.

Alongside his wife and their energetic border collie, I am working to create an online environment where education is not just a profession but also a hobby.

Find more at Calderbank Academy, and join me on my learning journey as I add new resources and information regularly.
